I can't believe I forgot to show you these!!!

I have been getting so carried away with things just recently that I forgot to show you the bags I made with the fabric I told you about in this blog post!

So here are the bags I made with my Foxy Loxy fabric...

...and the fabric with the pear design.
Both are now for sale in my shop.

Flower Power

At the beginning of the week I picked up this piece of gorgeous vintage fabric from one of my piles of fabric (I really must get it organized!)...

... actually they were remnants as I had used it to make this fabulous pinny last year.

My intention was to make some simple wash bags out of the remaining fabric, but then this happened!
I haven't done much free style machine embroidery and this was a very long time ago, but it is something that I love and would like to experience more.

I was quite pleased with the outcome, and this little flower did actually end up being made into a wash bag, just not in the way I had originally intended.
This is now available to buy in my Etsy Shop
Once I'd done one flower, I had to do another!  This time bigger as I'd decided it would make a lovely cushion...
... with some hand embroidery.  A fabulous excuse to sit and create French knots!

And then came another cushion!
The perfect pair!!!

These are also available to buy in my shop, alongside other new products for 2012.

I feel a bit reluctant to part with them, but they wouldn't go with the fabric I have bought to make my curtains.  I'll just have to make more for myself in different colours!

Also, a reminder that this little Foxy Loxy journal will be given a new home on 27th January.  If you would like him to come and live with you please click on this link to find out how.

Hope you all have a fantastic week x

Working in Pairs

I appear to have been working in pairs the past week.  It has been quite relaxing doing so, and has meant that I have seen the finished product much quicker.  Very satisfying. The past few months I have needed to make quickly and have had too many things on the go, making it too much of a production line to make it too satisfying.

Last weekend, I took a little step back and decided that I would leisurely complete a few cushions ready for a couple of events I have in the next week.  I loved these cushions when I made one for my niece (she is still taking hers to bed with her!), they are so cute, and the plan was/still is to make some in the New Year, but I couldn't resist.  These won't be available in my shop until 2012, but I do have a couple that will be available to buy at the Contemporary Arts and Craft Fair, Astley Park, Chorley, on Sunday 4th December, and I am also happy to take orders.

Today's mission was a new design bag. I had previously decided that I would like to use my pear design on a wash bag. I'd intended to do this for a while, but hadn't had the opportunity, so I seized the moment and took advantage of my quiet house (everyone was out, lovely!) to make a pair of pear bags.  I had intended just to use one pear, off centre, but I liked the three of them together.  I'm wondering though whether I should have used contrasting thread on the pears, and make the stitching more of a feature.  What do you think?

I have been a busy bee!!!

In between juggling looking after the children, making food, shopping for food, tidying, tidying again... and again, etc. etc. I have also been getting stock together for Christmas, and updating my shop.

You may have noticed on my shop widget at the right hand side that I have some new products.  I had a product shoot with Michael J Oakes, so I am now (slowly) listing them in my shop.

There are some fabulous new fabrics...

...wash bags...
... cosmetic bags...

... halter neck pinnies

 ... shower caps...
... these are just a few things that have been listed, so please do pop over to my shop to have a closer look.

There are more products to come over the next week or so... and then I may have time to tell you about the clothkits doll that my daughter is in the process of making with my sewing machine!!!

The outcome of last weeks giveaway

Time just seems to be flying at the moment.  I can't believe it is over a week ago since my last post regarding my facebook wash bag giveaway.  Some of you may be aware how it turned out, but for those of you that don't, this was the outcome...

... I was over in Yorkshire stopping with my lovely little sister for a couple of days, so I had a couple of assistants to help me.  My sister wrote out the numbers on little pieces of paper and we decided that number 1 would be the first person after me (I was the first person to 'like' myself!!!), and we would go up the list.  My brother in law got out his hat and put the pieces of paper in his hat, my sister gave them a shake, ruffled them around, blew on them and asked her hubby to pull out her number.  Blowing on them for luck failed her, and he picked out the number 3.  We were very shocked when we looked down the list to find that it was actually my sister-in-law!!!  Well done Cheryl, and sorry to all those whose numbers were left in the hat.

If you would still like one of these lovely bags...

you can buy them in The Royal Exchange Gallery Craft Shop in Manchester, or in my online shop.

If you want to be kept up to date with future giveaways and offers, they will be posted on my Loula Belle At Home facebook page.  Just click on the 'like' button so that you don't miss them.

Would you like one of these bags?

I just love this fabric, it's like taking a walk in the woods.  Because there is so much going on in the fabric, each bag I make is different.  Fabulous.  Anyway, I thought that I would give one away to one of my facebook 'likers'.

All you need to do is hop over to my facebook page (or alternatively, click on the follow us on facebook link in the right hand side of this page), and click on the like button in the left hand margin, you are welcome to leave me a message if you wish, but you will automatically qualify for the bag that I have sitting here waiting for a new home, by simply 'liking' my page.  I will be picking the winner from a hat Sunday 14th August at 9pm, so you will need to get it done before then!

Good luck!

... and the runner up has chosen...

... (after much pondering a decision was made) one of my NEW Woodland Wash Bags.  These are not yet available to buy in my shop, but have been available to buy in The Royal Exchange gift shop in Manchester, which is where Gail from seventyseventyone design saw them.  Unfortunately they had sold out of them... but I do have a few more left, some will be heading to Manchester at the end of the week, but I will keep some back!!!

I just love this print.  It is so busy, there are all sorts of different plant life, and some fabulous colours that catch your eye.  Because of this each bag is unique.  If you like them, keep your eyes peeled.  They will be available to buy in my shop very soon!
