Hello there, long time no see! Do you fancy a giveaway?

Two months... more than two months.  I cannot believe how quickly 2013 is going!!!  I have lots to show you, and there has been an awful lot going on at LB@H HQ, but first lets start with a little giveaway.

This year I have managed to produce some lovely giclee prints (and greeting cards) of the papercuts that I have been creating.  This is fabulous as it enables lots of you to be able to enjoy my work.  You can find a collection of them in my shop.

This is my latest, and is not yet available in my shop...I haven't got that far just yet!!!

It is printed onto A4 Archival Matte Paper, and the actual image is approx 9.5x19cm.  They cost £12.50 + £2.50 postage.

I have one of these up for grabs.  If you would like one, please leave me a message to say that you would on the image at the top of my facebook page.  If you could share this (on fb, twitter, with the lady next door), it would be much appreciated.

I'll pick a winner and announce it here next Sunday 21st just after 8pm.

Potato Cakes for the weekend

Oh hello!  I have been thinking about my blog a bit recently and didn't know how to start out again after having neglected it for so long!  I decided that I would just come back as if I'd never been anyway.  I have lots to show you, but first, food!

I promised that I would let my lovely followers on facebook have my potato cake recipe, so here goes.

Potato Cakes - makes about 16

2oz butter
6oz plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
1 small bowl of mashed potato (about 2 cups)
milk
flour for dusting

1. mix together your flour, salt & baking powder.
2. Add butter and rub together until it looks like breadcrumbs.
3.  Add your potato and using your hands combine the two, adding drops of milk as you go along until you have a workable dough.
4. Wash your hands to get rid of all the stickyness and flour the work surface and your hands/rolling pin.
5.  Make your potato cakes you can cut into small pieces and make individual ones.  I make a 'rectangle' about 1/2" thick using a rollin pin, and then cut in half lenthways before cutting into eighths.  I then cut each of these 'squares' into triangles.
6.  Place on greased baking tray and cook in the over at 180° for about 10/15mins until golden brown.

Eat warm with butter (and whatever else you fancy!) :-)

Happy baking my lovelies.  I hope to be back soon to show you lots of the lovely work I have been busy creating.  Have fun x

FAMILY TREE PAPER CUT GIVEAWAY :-)

I am sorry I have neglected my blog recently, but I have been overwhelmed with paper cuts I have been commissioned to do.  If you don't all ready, you can get more frequent updates about my work via my page on facebook.

I am however taking 5 mins out from cutting to let you know that I am giving away one of my beautiful Family Tree papercuts.  I have had a good year, and I just wanted to share the love and thank all those people that have shared my work and helped make 2012 successful for me.

This link will take you to the image seen below, and all you need to do is share it and write a comment (please do feel free like my page too!!).  If you do have a browse around my photos, please do feel free to click like on anything you like and help me spread the Loula Belle At Home love :-)

I'm not sure whether I will have time to post again before Christmas, so just incase I don't, I wish you all a fabulous Christmas xxx

'I'll always be with you' paper cut

I've just been sorting some of my products ready for the 'A Woodland Tale' exhibition at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.  While I was doing this, I realized that I hadn't shown you this paper cut I was commissioned to complete a month (or so!) ago, so thought I would share it with you now!

As I am so busy at the moment, I am not able to blog quite as much as I would like.  If you would like to see more up dates of my work, including work in progress pics, you are quite welcome to join me over on facebook as I do use this more frequently.

Blackberry and Apple Cake

As I have been so rubbish with my blog just recently, I thought I would apologize and share this fabulous cake with you.  We have made it a couple of times this year, and love the fact that we can go collecting blackberries before we make it!  It is a BBC Good Food recipe and I tried to find a link for it but was unable to so I took a photo from the booklet.

So, get your wellies on (you will need them), and get yourselves out there before the blackberries disappear!

Yum yum!
